Synopsis: The year is 1999. Oscar is a strong willed WWII Army combat veteran struggling with PTSD and rapid-onset dementia. As wartime memories overshadow his sense of reality, Oscar increasingly believes he is still an active-duty soldier in a never-ending war. Oscar’s wife, Lucy, is near the breaking point as she fights to keep what’s left of him from slipping into delusion. Lucy’s best friend, Agnes, a lonely woman desperate for love, has grown especially fond of Oscar.
“Twilight in the Park” is a new play by regional playwright and actor Paul Kodiak. The cast includes John Corl as “Oscar”; Pamela Wallace as his wife, “Lucy”; and Marcy Repp as their close friend and neighbor, “Agnes”. The play is directed by long-time Crowded Kitchen Players’ member, Bruce Brown, and stage-managed by acclaimed regional actor, Trish Cipoletti. Ara Barlieb serves as producer and technical director.
“Twilight in the Park” will be performed in the upstairs theater. Staff and volunteers from Lehigh County Aging and Adult Services and Dementia Friendly Lehigh Valley will be in the lobby, when their duties permit, to speak with anyone interested in learning more about dementia and its effects on seniors and their families and friends.
All tickets are $20. All seats are general admission.
Show ran for six performances, June 7 through June 16.
